"Expression to the fullest degree. The clamor erupts with wild outbursts of savage
determination on a French compilation album featuring eleven French bands. EntitledRapsodie, with nineteen tracks of the newest talent in the thrash field,
this warms up to be a good sampler.
Starring Heimat Los and Rapt, a raging brilliance of zoomfesters, who kick up a storm with thundering speed, the album also gives you more Butcher, Final Blast and Kromozom 4 whose reputations are quickly growing. Add to that newcomers Zoi who rip three great tracks... and more chaos from Scraps, M.S.T., Cock Roaches, Draft Dodgers and Kontingent Syphilitik.
Potentially Rapsodie shows the birth of a newdirection in french hardcore that gives hope to the thrash scene there. A fine
effort from Jungle Hop International."
Well, this review by Pushead taken from the January 1987 issue of Thrasher Magazine gives you an idea of the musical content. This lp released in late 1986 was the very first Hardcore 12inch record produced in France back then. It's no mystery that the French bands were a little behind the rest compared to their european counterparts... During the 80s, the French punk sound was dominated by street punk and oï bands, and these influences still remains for some bands on this lp.
The first volume of this compilation was released one year earlier as a tape, check it on the Pay No More Than blog. This record is ripped on 256kbps from the original source, here you get much better quality than the 128 kbps rip already floating on the WWWeb.
