Indonesia has one of the world's largest and most dynamic punk scene nowadays, if you take in account the number of bands and people involved. Yet most of its production seem to pass unnoticed, maybe due to a lack of communication or a will to spread their music to the outside world. Let's just hope that the Indonesian and South-East asian DIY scene will gain more attention and hype during the 2010-2020 decade, because it's definitely the place where it's happening now. Milisi Kecoa might be the most accessible band to western ears, they assimilated lots of US and European old-school HC influences, played with a bit dissonant guitars and lyrics sung in bahasa indonesia, and they managed to make their sound fresh and personal, catchy and dynamic.
