I've read here and there that F.V.K had been considered as the japanese equivalent of Bad Brains, if you take in account they're named after a Bad Brains song, the yellow record sleeves and the Rastafari iconography, maybe... but musically it's a totally different thing, their stuff is quite difficult to describe, but F.V.K. wrote weird little hard core songs with a very personal sense of rhythm and melody. Probably fueled by lots of Marijuana. Their first 1987 7inch, the "Target e.p." was re-released one year later as a remixed version with a very proeminent bass drum which makes the fast parts sound like a total mess... as the band was not as popular and didn't reach the cult status as their japanese hardcore counterparts, old copies from their records still can be found for cheap prices... F.V.K. morphed into Rydeen during the late 90s.
