Had the chance to see this band playing live opening for GWAR in NYC back in 1988 and that was quite an experience... Both bands were totally unknown to me at that time so i had been caught by surprise and been witnessing one of the craziest, unforgettable and most fucked up live performance ever. The mess happening on stage was quite senseless and hard to describe so i included a few Tragic Mulatto live set pictures in the archive for you to figure out. Musicwise, this bunch of freaks from San Francisco delivered slow and weird arty punk-rock songs, including powerful female vocals, and also some tuba and saxophone. While being unique and personal, Their sound and approach could be linked to the Butthole Surfers. Obscenity, toilet humor and sexually charged lyrics, you had been warned. There's unfortunately not that much info online about this band, and their material had never been reissued, just hope their live action had been caught on video and will resurface on Dvd or on Youtube one day...
