Putang-I-Nas 1993

Interview from Mutilated News n°9, there's a mention about the power crisis that hit Metro Manila during the early 90s...
From The Economist, April 1993:
PEOPLE power" was the slogan of the Philippine revolution in 1986. Seven years on, electrical power seems rather more to the point. This month much of the country has had to do without electricity for up to ten hours a day. Notices in Manila office blocks blithely inform tenants, "The brown-out today will last between 10am and 5pm." Manila nights are punctuated by bouts of cheering or groaning as the lights go on and off.
The brown-outs are both cause and effect of a troubled economy. Raul Concepcion, one of the country's biggest industrialists, reckons that the power crisis has cost the Philippines 20 billion pesos ($800m) in the first quarter of this year.
