Info Post
Wuds, Manila 2004

Okay, two years later, here's another music post,

Wuds were part of the forefathers of the Filipino Punk scene of the 80's along with bands like Dead Ends, Third World Chaos & Betrayed, they did continue their music carreer during the 90s and i suppose they're still playing from time to time now.

What makes Wuds a special band is the way they fuse Punk Rock with more traditional Pinoy rock & folk influences, Most of the lyrics deal with a religious outlook on life, they do not preach but rather deliver positive messages in their songs.

Here are three albums:

the 1994 tape Oplan Kahon ( Operation Box ) is a compilation from their previous songs from the T.R.C. days, most of the tracks appeared on their debut album Armstalk and the TRC tape samplers, but all the music was re-recorded with a cleaner & more powerful sound.

Their debut, A.R.M.S.T.A.L.K, ( Armies’ Reunion for Modern-age Service & Training in Attainment of Love & Knowledge ), on TRC records, the sound is way more rough but the versions have their own qualities, like primitive 50's rock played with a Punk energy...

Their 1996 album Gera ( War ), which is more accessible for mainstream audiences and eventually get some airplay, at this time, they were quite popular on the Independent and "Alternative" circuit. Songwriting is great and the lyrics are political. Sorry for the low bitrate, i did found the rip on Soulseek some time ago.

Here some scans of a lenghty interview published on the last paper issue of Mutilated News fanzine, i guess the interview lasts from the early nineties and was not published before 1998 or 1999, they explain there their views on religion and the local music scene...
