When the TRC label ceased its activities in 1989, things became much more difficult for the next breed of punk bands of the early Nineties. They had to wait for another label to take care of them, or they had to self-produce. If TRC didn't exist in the Eighties, all the local punk movement probably couldn't develop to that level, Tommy Tanchanco had funds and connections, he could give the bands access to decent recording conditions, media exposure, the tapes were professionaly designed, thanks to mr.Dodong Viray... There's a strong possibility the bands couldn't achieve that if they had to do it themselves.
I don't have further information about Drastic Noise, but by reading the liner notes, this tape had been produced by the vocalist, John John De La Serna and some of his family members. Production values are pretty decent here, offset printed cover and professional studio recording. Sounds like minimalist Pinoy street punk for the slow and mid-tempo parts, fast parts lean to noisecore, reminds me the sound from the crazy french band Rapt. Raise your fist and sing-along "WE ARE THE COMBATANTS OF ANARCHY!!!" while listening these sweet and beautiful songs.
