Info Post

First demo from the short-lived band Blighted Area.
They started back in 1988 and splitted in 1992. Unlike what the badly drawn thrash-metal logo on the tape cover might suggest, Blighted Area played simple and fast hardcore punk in the lines of Ripcord or Corrupted Morals, lyrics sung in French and English.
The sound is a bit thin but all instruments are discernable. After that recording, a second guitarist joined 'em, and then they added more metal riffing and got an heavier sound.
The band's latter period can be heard here, on a clean soundboard recording.
Their only vinyl appearance was on the ninth volume of the Panx vinyl fanzine 7 inches compilation series, including a track from this demo.

Eight songs, including a Black Flag cover, available here:

After the demise, some members went to form the Straight'edge / Youth Crew inspired band Rawness, who was very active during the 90s, the drummer is the mastermind behind the great blog Pay No More Than, which is really worth a visit.
